Mike Afolarin (born on September 1, 1993) has gained widespread recognition in the Nigerian film industry due to his leading role in the Netflix series “Far From Home” playing the role of “Ishaya Bello.”
In addition to his acting career, Afolarin is a television presenter, film producer, and photographer.
Early & Education
Afolarin was born to Christian parents of Yoruba descent. He spent a few of his formative years in Ibadan before his family had to relocate to Lagos state at the age of seven.
He was enrolled in a Lagos school where he had primary and secondary education.
He attended Federal Government College, Ijanikin, and later got admission to one of the prestigious universities in Nigeria, where he bagged a degree.
Career
Afolarin is a talented and ambitious actor who is genuinely dedicated to his profession. He made his entry into the Nigerian film industry in 2013 while he was still pursuing his education at the university. Since then, Afolarin had the opportunity to take on a variety of exciting and challenging roles, working with some of the most respected and well-known actors in the industry, such as Funke Akindele, EbonyLife Films, Daniel Etim-Effiong, Akin Lewis, Demola Adedoyin, and others.
Afolarin’s hard work and dedication to his profession paid off when he was cast in the Nigerian Netflix series “Far From Home,” which was released in December 2022.
This role catapulted him to stardom and cemented his reputation as a skilled and versatile actor capable of tackling a wide range of roles and projects.
