Iziegbe Odigie (born October 20, 1996) is a professional Nigerian-American Dancer and choreographer best known as Izzy Odigie.
Izzy began dancing in Nigeria at a tender age and grew up to become one of the top list dancers in Nigeria.
Early Life
Izzy was born in Brooklyn, New York to a Christian parents, Her mother, Osarenoma Odigie, was a Nurse and her father was a businessman.
At an early age, she was moved down to Nigeria, Edo State, Her hometown to be precise, where she attended a boarding school between the age of three and eleven.
While at the boarding, Izzy participated in the weekly dance competition among other students tagged ‘Street Dance.’
Izzy became so interested in dancing and began working towards it.
In 2007, She was moved to the US again and she began studying Music while she was also enrolled at St. John’s University in Queens, New York.
She pursues her career wholeheartedly and also got involved in modeling also. She was committed and hardworking.
She joined a dance crew known as Enkore immediately after high school.
Career
The talented dancer is known for Afro dance and focuses on Afro Beats. She is also a teacher who manages a fitness and choreography class in Philadelphia.
Izzy first came to stardom after she danced with Eddy Kenzo in 2015 and also when she was chosen to be on the OkayAfrica 100 Women list in 2019. This aim was to find the women who were disrupting their own local culture whilst at the same time demanding equal access to the global stage.
She is also one of the founders of TRYBE.
Izzy has grown to become one of the most successful US/Nigerian dancers and choreographers and actively pursuing her career.
