Bobrisky Convicted For Abusing Naira

In the federal high court session held on Friday, April 5, 2024, Judge Abimbola Awogboro presided over a significant case involving Bobrisky. Following a thorough review of the case, Judge Abimbolala Awogboro rendered a verdict, convicting Bobrisky of the charges brought against him.

During the trial, Bobrisky was afforded the opportunity to address the court. He expressed his lack of awareness regarding the laws governing the handling of the Nigerian currency, the naira. Additionally, Bobrisky highlighted his substantial social media following, boasting over five million followers. He appealed to the court for leniency, emphasizing his desire to educate his vast audience on legal matters.

However, Judge Awogboro firmly reminded Bobrisky that ignorance of the law does not exempt one from its consequences. Despite Bobrisky’s assurances that he would refrain from repeating such actions, the judge reiterated the gravity of the offenses.

Bobrisky faced charges related to the abuse of the naira and money laundering, comprising a total of six counts. Ultimately, he pleaded guilty to these charges and was formally arraigned.

The court proceedings underscored the importance of adhering to legal standards, irrespective of one’s social standing or influence. Bobrisky’s case serves as a reminder of the accountability individuals bear for their actions under the law.
