Meet Oni Olalekan, popularly known as Asiwaju, who is allegedly a 400-level student at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti. He was taken into custody on June 18th in connection with allegations of sexual misconduct.
According to reports, Asiwaju is accused of giving his male friend two bottles of an alcoholic beverage called Lakoko. After his friend became heavily intoxicated and fell asleep, Asiwaju reportedly engaged in the non-consensual activity.
Several students have come forward, claiming this incident is not isolated. They allege that multiple victims within the university have suffered similar incidents involving Asiwaju.
On the day of his arrest, Asiwaju was allegedly caught in the act of attempting another inappropriate encounter with a different male student. This time, fellow students intervened and apprehended him, leading to his arrest.
Additionally, it was revealed that before this incident, Asiwaju had allegedly attempted to engage in non-consensual activity with another male student. The student managed to escape, but in the process, he experienced a medical emergency. The students who came to his aid had planned to confront Asiwaju, but they discovered he had already been arrested for the earlier reported incident.
The university community is in shock, and many are calling for justice for the victims and stricter measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
