Biography

Oyinkansola Aderibigbe (born 14, 2002) is professionally known by her stage name Ayrastar. She is a fast-rising Nigerian Afropop singer and songwriter from Benin, Edo state.

She came into the limelight after being unveiled as Mavin Records Newest signee and became the only female currently in Mavin Records.

Early Life

The 20 years Afro-Popstar grew up with her mom in Lagos Mainland alongside her only brother, Dami Aderibigbe, who is now a musician.

She was born in Benin, Edo state but was raised in Lagos state, where she lived with her mom after her Father’s demise.

She grew up having a passion for singing and wanted to be heard. At her younger age, she began writing songs of her own, turning most of her notebooks into song jotters, where she’d write songs and freestyle them out.

She had a lovely voice which also went well with her sound. As she grew up, she began to master her carrier as she also made some influential artists in Nigerian, and International artists her source of inspiration.

Her music part was greatly supported by her parent even before the death of her Father. She was always motivated to pursue her dream as an artist.

Career

The youngster began her musical life as a choir member, where she served God with her voice.

She learned voice control and more bout music, and soon after, she began writing songs of her own and thrilling her classmates. 

She started with freestyle and made covers of some banging songs by notable artists.

Before music, Ayra first started as a model, where she was signed to Quote Modeling Management and some other brands in 2018 to enhance her skill in modeling.

But shortly after, her passion for music grew even more solid, and made her to change her focus to music, devoting her time to writing songs.

She began going for a studio section, escorted by her brother. She recorded some of her songs and would most times do a cover of her favorite songs and post them on Instagram. 

She was shot into the limelight after she was discovered by Don Jazzy in 2020.

Don Jazzy, who happens to have met her on Instagram, was amazed after he saw her freestyle. He invited her over and tutored her for a while concerning her musical career. On January 21, Don Jazzy officially welcomed Ayra star into the Mavins Family.

She released her debut self-titled EP, AyraStar, on the 22nd of 2020, a day after she was announced as part of the Mavin family.

This massive achievement earns her a lot of followers and fans.

The five-track EP has garnered many Airstreams and peaked at the top on Apple Music Nigeria.

In March 2021, the song miraculously topped in four other countries on Spotify, YouTube and Audiomack.

Ayra also performed on July 11 for the season finale of Nigerian idol.

She released her first studio album, ‘19 & Dangerous‘, on August 6, 2021. featuring other guest artists like ‘Foushee‘ and ‘Ckay.’

Bloody Samaritan‘ off the EP became a successful song, blooming to number one on the Chart, making her the only female act to have ever topped the Chart with a solo single. 

On September 5, 2021, she performed in Big Brother Naija during a live eviction.

She released a single titled Rush and made it public on all streaming platforms on September 13.

Personal Life

The 20years old young star is currently single and has no boyfriend, not liver yet.

She lives with her mum and her brother somewhere on the mainland.

Due to her close relationship with her Dad, she was greatly affected by the loss of their Father and has written some tribute songs for him in that sense.

She was recently featured on Mavin-all-star, released on May 13, 2022, and featured as the only female artist on the song.

Ayra is currently the only female act in Mavin’s record.

On February 9, she was featured on a re-up of Magixx‘s song “Love don’t cost a dime.”

Ayra Star is currently signed to Mavin Records.
