Biography
Marvin William Bailey (born March 6, 1994) Is a British rapper, singer, and songwriter professionally known as Fredo, born and raised in the locals of Queen’s Park, London. He achieved a UK number-one single in 2018 with rapper Dave on the “Funky Friday” song.
Early Life
Fredo is from a mixed ethnicity, where his father is from Barbados, while his mother is Moroccan.
He was born in Queen’s Park, London, England but grew up in West London and Hertfordshire, where he had his primary education.
He attended a nearby school in his neighborhood but was expelled before his GCSEs.
Career
Growing up in a locality where music was highly dominant, Fredo was lucky enough to listen to artists like 50Cent and Giggs, which ignited his passion for creating his music.
In March 2016, he dropped his debut track, “They Ain’t 100,” which quickly gained attention after he was arrested for unknown reasons. But the song became a hit even while he was in prison for about three weeks. This success prompted him to release the mixtapes “Get Rich or Get Recall” in 2017 and “Table Turn” in 2018, both of which charted in the Top 10.
He was also featured on tracks by artists like Kojo Funds, Young T & Bugsey, and Dave’s hit single “Funky Friday.”
Fredo’s first full-length album, “Third Avenue,” was released in February 2019, which was mostly produced by JB, and marked his debut on RCA’s Since ’93 imprint. The album included a heartfelt song dedicated to his mother, “Love You for That.” The album’s title references the West London housing estate where he was raised.
In 2021, Fredo released his second album, “Money Can’t Buy Happiness,” featuring artists like Pop Smoke, Dave, Summer Walker, and Young Adz, reaching a high of number two on the UK Albums Chart. And in June of the same year, he announced his third album, “Independence Day,” set to be released on August 5, 2021. This time, he plans to release his music as standalone singles and independently.
